Renovation Update – Social Club Demo Kitchen:
As a reminder, the Demo Kitchen & Card Room 3 will be closed as of Monday, April 27th in preparation for the start of the new construction to build a full catering kitchen and storage room.
When accessing the Social Club Pool please use the front door and walk through the Social Club Lobby, as both the North and South entrances are closed due to construction.
It is expected that the construction effort will be completed in September. Until completion, there will be limited facilities available to Clubs and Organizations who wish to serve refreshments at their event. For those clubs/organizations affected by these changes in the demo kitchen, please call or email Pam if you have any questions.
During construction, there will be periods when it will be very noisy in the Social Hall. When this type of work is scheduled, we will send out an eflash in advance so that you can make alternate plans for cards and mah-jong.
CERT TERM PRACTICING THEIR TRAINING TO HELP THEIR FELLOW RESIDENTS!
There are close to 100 of your neighbors that have completed over 24 hours of CERT training in how to help their neighbors in case of an emergency (e.g. after a hurricane or tornado hits VS) and that they have to become the First Responders in VS. This would be required because Palm Beach County's Best are stretched too thin helping other communities. To keep current, they all take annual refresher training AND they conduct drills to practice what they were taught.
On this Sunday, April 26, at 9 AM in the morning, the entire CERT Team, both those completing all of the training and several volunteers, will execute their FULL COMMUNITY DRILL, one team per section. They will be wearing reflective vests, helmets and backpacks, as if this was a real emergency. The drill entails doing door to door searches and then document their response to simulated emergencies. At 10 AM they will all converge in the Social Hall to review their responses with the rest of the team and will get immediate feedback to see how they did and how to improve on their support to their neighbors.
Please do not get upset when you see them, it is only a drill. You can go over and say thank you. You can even consider going for the training, or becoming a volunteer.
We are currently experiencing technical problems with Channel 999/15. We are working with Hotwire to establish a resolution. We will update you when this issue has been resolved.

Valencia Shores ID card Pictures:
As most of you are aware, we have been working on
transitioning over to a new card system. Each card provided will serve as an ID card, building and pool gate access card, and café debit card. Two new cards will be issued to each home at no charge, which must include a photo ID. We have had a delay in activating the café portion of the cards from a third party and do not currently have a distribution date. However, management will continue taking pictures.
If you have not had your picture taken please stop by one of the sessions below. If you have any questions please contact Alaina Swichar at the office.
